Logistical Information
Hotel
We’re getting married at Summit Lodge in Killington, Vermont, USA. The Summit Lodge is an old-fashioned ski lodge with fabulous amenities including a pub, hot tub, outdoor pool, two Saint Bernards named Teddy and Rachel, and a pug (who even Ollie thought was kind of cute). The rooms are cozy and well-appointed. Please contact the Lodge as soon as you possibly can to reserve a room. We are getting married over Easter weekend and the hotel expects to fill up. Rooms cost $109 per night and include a skier's breakfast, with real Vermont maple syrup! Please call them at 1-800-635-6343 or alternatively you can email them at summit@vermontel.net.

Transportation
As we know you're coming from a long way away, and you might not have been to Killington before. Whether you're making the trip from the United Kingdom or travelling in from a bit closer, this is your handy guide on how to get there.
Flying
If you’re coming from further away than New Jersey, you will probably want to fly. Swimming at this time of year is inadvisable and Vermont is New England’s only landlocked state. The closest airports to Killington are West Lebanon, NH (LEB) and Rutland, VT (RUT). These are very small airports; you will have to fly through or from Boston Logan (BOS) to get there. There are three flights per day to and from both Rutland and West Lebanon via Boston. You could also fly into Boston, New York John F. Kennedy (JFK), Newark Liberty (EWR), Hartford’s Bradley International (BDL), or Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau (YUL) and drive. Please see "Driving" for more information on how to get to Killington via car. If you fly into either New York or Newark there is also the option to take the train.

Train
From New York City, there is one train a day from Penn Station (NYP). At the time of writing, the Ethan Allen Express departs Penn Station at 5:47pm and arrives into Rutland (RUD) at 11:13pm. On the way back, the train leaves Rutland at 5:05pm and arrives into New York at 10:50pm.
Getting from the Airport or Train Station to Summit Lodge
There is no public transportation between Rutland or West Lebanon. There is no taxi service either. Your best option is to take Gramps Shuttle, a Killington-based fifteen-passenger van. Once you've solidified your transportation, please ; if multiple wedding guests are arriving at a similar time, we might be able to arrange a group deal with Gramps.
Driving
From New York, Boston, Hartford, Montreal, or elsewhere, the address of the Summit Lodge is 200 Summit Road, Killington, VT 05751. It is about a three hour drive from Boston or Montreal and five hours from New York

Entertainment
Skiing
Killington is one of the eastern United States' première ski areas. In April, weather can be iffy, but we expect there will be at least some snow. Killington has a great ski school, so if you've never strapped yourself into boards (or a board) before, now is your chance to learn. We will post more details about getting ski lessons once information becomes available.
If you have moved beyond the bunny hill then we'd love to take a run with you! (Well, Amy would - Ollie is still learning). Lift tickets can be purchased in advance at www.killington.com, or you can just wait until you arrive.
Your Killington lift ticket is also good for Pico Mountain, just a few minutes up the road. If you're a bit frightened by the prospect of the "Beast of the East", Okemo Mountain is more family-friendly and forty minutes south.

Tourist Attractions
The Ben and Jerry’s Factory is located in Waterbury, VT, an hour and a quarter north of Killington. Tours are held daily and take half an hour. You can also visit their world famous Flavor (Read "Flavour" if you're British) Graveyard if, like Amy, you're still in mourning for Bovinity Divinity. There's a Scoop Shop on site so you can enjoy your Cherry Garcia and Chunky Monkey in the place where they were born.
The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory is in Shelburne, less than two hours from Killington. They have a factory tour if you’d like to see how bears are born, but be forewarned, there are no tours on Easter Sunday. If you’ve gone all that way, we recommend you also visit Shelburne Farms, a 1,400 acre working farm and national historic landmark near Lake Champlain.

If you don't fancy going quite that far, you might want to visit Woodstock, a charming, quintessential New England town half an hour from the Summit Lodge. Have ice cream (and/or pie) at the Mountain Creamery and visit Gillinghams, an old-fashioned general store. A little bit further afield is Queechee Gorge and the Vermont Antique Mall.
Food and Drink
We love the Back Behind for BBQ and standard American fare; the Pasta Pot for home made Italian goodness; Charity’s Tavern or Moguls. If you haven't had your fill of maple syrup at breakfast, the pancakes and waffles at Sugar and Spice are awesome.
